Our practice nurses offer a wide range of services including:
- Immunisation and foreign travel
- Minor injuries
- Cervical smears
- Chronic disease management
- Family planning
We are now offering a service for patients who may have spinal, joint or soft tissue pain. The service provides a telephone call from a specialist physiotherapist with diagnosis, advice regarding treatment and if necessary, referral on to specialist services. Diabetes nurse specialist
A diabetes nurse specialist from the Elsie Bertram Centre holds a clinic once a month at the surgery and access is via a healthcare professional.
We have two fully qualified nurse practitioners who can deal with many of the same issues as a doctor.
Phlebotomist and healthcare assistant
We have an in house phlebotomist and healthcare assistant whose services include:
- Blood tests
- Blood pressure monitoring
- Urine testing
- Warfarin monitoring
- New patient health checks
- NHS health checks

We have a team of district nurses who provide a service to our patients. The district nurses offer a service to the housebound and work closely with the doctors and practice nurses.

Pre-diabetic prevention programme
Staithe Surgery have now commended hosting health and wellbeing coaches from a company called Independant Clinical Services (ICS) to conduct pre-diabetic health and wellbeing advice to those patients who live in the Stalham area and who are considered to be at risk of developing diabetes.
This will be part of a national initiative although currently is being trialed in north Norfolk and the sessions will include 1 to 1 consultations followed by a ten week programme of advice how to prevent diabetes. This programme will be held as a group session and include dietary and exercise advice.
Those who are considered to be at risk will be contacted by letter.

A private psychotherapist (Susan Frazer) holds a clinic at the surgery on a regular basis; she books her own appointments and can be contacted on 01603 304543.
